Social Media Terms of Use (Community Guidelines) – External Users

To maintain a professional, safe, and respectful environment across our social media channels, by visiting, posting to, or otherwise interacting with our pages, you agree to these Community Guidelines and to the applicable platform’s terms and policies.  If you do not agree, please do not participate.  All followers and participants must follow these guidelines:

1. Be Respectful

We welcome engagement, questions, and conversation — but we do not permit:

• Harassment, discrimination, or abusive language
• Threats, hate speech, or personal attacks
• Spam or repetitive promotional content
• Defamatory, obscene, or otherwise unlawful content
• Private or personal information about yourself or others (e.g., addresses, phone numbers, account details)

2. Protect Safety

For everyone’s safety, followers may not:

• Post or share unsafe installation practices
• Demonstrate equipment use in hazardous ways
• Request or share technical advice that should come from certified professionals
• Offer or solicit emergency assistance; please contact local authorities in an emergency
• Post content that encourages dangerous or illegal activities

3. Protect Confidentiality

Do not share:

• Customer-specific information
• Proprietary or sensitive Merit Brass details
• Photographs taken in manufacturing or restricted areas
• Specification sheets or internal documents not publicly released
• Content you do not have the right to share, including third-party copyrighted works, trade secrets, or others’ confidential information
• Logos, trademarks, or branding used in a manner likely to cause confusion

By posting content on our channels, you represent and warrant that you own or have all necessary rights to share it, and you grant Merit Brass a nonexclusive, worldwide, perpetual, transferable, royalty‑free license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, display, distribute, and create derivative works from your content in any media, including for moderation, archiving, marketing, and reposting, without additional notice or compensation, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

If you believe your intellectual property rights are infringed on our channels, please notify us at MBMarketing@meritbrass.com with: (a) a description of the work you claim is infringed; (b) the specific content at issue and where it appears; (c) your contact information; and (d) a statement of your good‑faith belief and your authority to act.  We may remove content in our discretion.

4. Stay On Topic

Comments must relate to:

• Our products
• Our services
• Our company
• Industry topics

We reserve the right to remove unrelated or disruptive content. Commercial solicitations, political campaigning, and repetitive off‑topic posts may be removed.

5. No Misrepresentation

Followers may not:

• Spread false information about Merit Brass
• Impersonate employees or representatives
• Modify our content in misleading or harmful ways
• Falsely imply endorsement or affiliation
• Use bots, fake accounts, or coordinated inauthentic behavior

6. Moderation Standards

Merit Brass reserves the right to:

• Remove comments that violate these guidelines
• Hide or delete inappropriate content
• Block users who repeatedly violate our standards
• Disable comments, limit replies, or close threads at any time
• Report threats, illegal activity, or credible safety concerns to the platform or law enforcement

We moderate to maintain a safe, productive, and respectful space. We do not undertake to monitor every post and may exercise our moderation rights at our sole discretion.

7. Privacy

Protect your privacy.  Avoid posting personal, financial, or account information.  We may remove content that includes personal data. Information you share on social media is public and may be visible to others.  Our collection and use of any personal data is subject to our Privacy Policy; the platform’s own privacy terms also apply.

8. Disclaimer

Industry advice shared on our channels is informational only.  Content (including user posts) is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind.  Views expressed by users are their own and do not necessarily reflect Merit Brass’s views. Nothing on our channels constitutes professional, engineering, or safety advice; always consult qualified professionals and follow all applicable codes, standards, and instructions.  To the fullest extent permitted by law, Merit Brass is not responsible for third‑party content, links, or actions and disclaims liability for any damages arising from your use of or reliance on our channels.

9. Changes and Contact
