TO OUR VALUED CUSTOMERS:

Some very unfortunate news was released on August 12th. Lee Brass Company, founded in 1917 in Anniston, Alabama, closed its doors and ceased operations. This information caught Merit Brass and the rest of the industry by surprise. We were informed that all our open orders would be canceled.  Lee Brass was one of two manufacturers of domestic brass threaded fittings and flanges. The Company sold last year to Fidelis Holdings LLC, and as of the date of this writing, there has been no news regarding a potential sale of Lee Brass' assets, including foundry equipment and tooling. Consequently, there has been some marketplace supply disruption that will deepen as supplies of items that had only been made in the U.S.A. by Lee Brass are depleted.

Merit Brass takes pride in stocking the industry's most complete offering of brass threaded fittings in lead-free and leaded compositions. We have long maintained separate inventories of domestic and import brass threaded fittings and flanges as well as a line of domestic brass bar stock fittings. Merit Brass serves as the exclusive U.S. master distributor of Siam Fittings (SA brand, Thailand) brass threaded fittings and flanges and offers the broadest offering of import brass fittings and flanges in the industry.

Upon request, we can provide a cross-reference guide that denotes the domestic brass fittings and flanges items that are no longer available or will not be available as stock is depleted along with the corresponding items that are available in domestic forged or bar stock or import. Please reach out to your Merit Brass sales representative for the cross-reference guide and/or any related questions.

We remain extremely appreciative of your continued support.

Very Truly Yours,

Merit Brass Co.
